Summer 2015 has started!!

We are now open for our now 9th season and what a start to the summer!! The weather is clear and sunny with temperatures well into the high 20’s every day, we have even been able to be nude in the early evenings which is unheard of for this time of the year.

The resort once again looks amazing, I am always so proud of what our devoted team of staff are able to achieve year after year. Along with our usual freshen up, Simon had fun lighting our pool area for the evenings, it looks amazing!

I went on a beach tour last week to see the condition of the well known naturist beaches so there is a short report about my trip later in the newsletter.

Enjoy the newsletter and hope to see you soon in Kefalonia or at one of our other events, detailed in the newsletter. But what ever you decide to do this year for your holidays, ‘do it naked’!!

Nick

This summer we are very happy to welcome Nick to our team at Vassaliki. Nick has come over from the UK for the summer to take on the role of chef. Nick has many years of experience working in some top restaurants.

NickNick has semi retired from the hustle and bustle of the commercial kitchens and when asked by us if he would like a new challenge of running our pool bar food service he jumped at the opportunity.

Nick has brought with him extensive knowledge and experience of food from all around the world and has already been very well received by the rest of the team as he tried out some of his recipes and ideNaturist Weddingas on them!

Nick is a family friend and first came to Vassaliki two years ago when Samantha’s school friend Caroline got married at our resort (textile before you ask, but we did do a fun naked photo!!) Nick was the father of the bride and was very interested in what we were doing at Vassaliki on that visit.

We know you will love his food and having Nick on the team will give myself and Samantha more time to spend with our guests and improve the future of our company.

Reunion

We have set the date for our winter 2016 Vassaliki Reunion Weekend. We have been invited back to the Queens Hotel and Spa in Bournemouth after our 2014 reunion was such a success. The hotel has just recently undergone a refurbishment and the hotel has offered us the use of the hotel swimming pool, hot tub and sauna for the weekend as naturist!!!Reunion Poster

We will run a new idea this time, replacing the Friday night fish and chip supper with a mediterranean themed BBQ. The hotel chef will be cooking a range of meats on the BBQ under a gazebo outside the function suite while you enjoy a selection of salads and dining inside. This will save us having to walk to a different venue on the Friday and will allow people who arrive late to join us for the evening.

We of course cannot have the reunion weekend without our Gala diner. This year is black tie and dinner dress. We have been asked to rebook ‘The Unusual Suspects’ who are more than happy to return. They mentioned to me after the last event that we are the craziest group they have played for! So well done team Vassaliki !!!

Jason Jay will be there to serenade you with his range of popular opera during your meal as well as a few more upbeat numbers to warm you all up for the band later.

We really hope you can join us for the weekend and once again we have managed to get an amazing deal of €245 per person for the whole weekend.

Includes –
Accommodation in a double room with ensuite bathroom
Breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings
BBQ dinner on Friday night
Gala Dinner on Saturday night
Live music Friday and Saturday night
Exclusive use of pool and spa naturist on Saturday

Book now by emailing Samantha at viglanatura@gmail.com and meet up with your friends from Vassaliki!

Ski Naked??

Ski PosterNaked Skiing!!?? Not something you would have thought possible or even something you really want to do? Me neither!!  But what about coming back from a hard day on the mountain, stripping off your boots and all the numerous layers, to lie naked in a steaming hot jacuzzi over looking the mountains at an exclusive mountain lodge in the French Alps?

Well that is possible and something I think you would love to try, so this year Samantha and I are hosting a special ski holiday week from 27th February to the 5th March 2016.

This luxury lodge is set in a remote area of the Portes du Soleil ski region of France and can only be accessed by skimobile or 4×4 transfer (included in the price.) You can ski to and from the lodge and have access to the nearby ski village of Morzine.

The lodge boast some of the best spa facilities I have seen for a private lodge with an indoor swimming pool, outside hot tub, steam room and a spectacular sauna, all for your use naked.

The lodge staff will offer a fine dining experience plus there is a transport manager and lodge manager to make sure all our needs are met. There is even an option for massage in the lodges own massage room.

Visit our website at www.viglanatura.com/ski for prices and more information.

Kefalonia Beaches

We are lucky in Kefalonia that many of the beaches are suitable for naturist swimming and sunbathing. We have 9 beaches that are known to be frequented by naturists. Each year I try and visit them all at least once to see if you can still access the beaches and what condition they are in.  This is a report of the first few I have visited this summer.

DSC01884Paliolinos / Avithos (10 min drive from Vassaliki) This beach is a mixture of sand and large rocks and it is a five minute walk to the naturist areas. Walk left or right from the Taverna to find a quiet area for swimming. This year the beach has lost a little sand and some grass weed has washed up onto the beach but it has not spoilt the beach.

Kanali (15 min from Vassaliki) This is a popular beach with our guests. On my visit this year the beach was a little narrow but should improve over the next few weeks, access was best from the Lourdas side. It is a long beach divided into three large coves by large rocks. Naturists seem to be in the middle cove.

Mounda (45 min drive from Vassaliki) This beach is a favourite of mine and many of our guests, a good number of naturists use the far end of the beach to enjoy their day. It is an easy walk from Mounda hotel which has plenty of parking. This beach is great for snorkelling on the far peninsular. On my last visit in May this year the beach was empty, only a few walkers came up to the far end.  This beach never fails to offer a great day.

Skala beach This was a very busy and popular naturist beach only a few year ago, but unfortunately over the last two years the sea has slowly taken away all the sand from between the large rocks which the naturists used to use for shelter. Now the naturist beach is completely inaccessible as far as I can see.

Anti Samos (45min drive from Vassaliki) This is a small beach at the far end of Anti Samos beach. It is separated by rocks so naturists have a separate cove. The beach is rocky so shoes are needed. The naturist section is accessed by a path behind the beach so you do need to climb over a few large rocks to get there, but I think it is worth it.

All the information about how to reach the beaches and the best places to park are available at the resort.
