Vasnat Club
Hotel is being purpose built in the Cape Dutch style on a private
wine estate. Cape Dutch architecture is an architectural style
found in the Western Cape of South Africa that was prominent in
the early days (17th century) of the Cape Colony, and the name
derives from the fact that the initial settlers of the Cape were
primarily Dutch.
Vasnat will recreate the grand, ornately rounded gables and white
washed walls, the most prominent features of this style, reminiscent
of townhouses of Amsterdam. It will also follow tradition by being
an H-shaped building, with the front section of the house being
flanked by two wings running perpendicular to it.
The impressive entranceway will open into a large reception area,
bar and restaurant. This will be the hub of Vasnat Club Hotel.
Not only will you check in with Sam at Reception (adjacent to
the bar!), we anticipate many a social evening to be spent in
this grand but inviting bar and restaurant area. As with all of
Vigla Natura's products, our emphasis is on community and we believe
this area will create a friendly social atmosphere to meet new
international friends.

As soon as
you come through the entrance, opposite is a large fireplace,
then as you look at the plan, the casual bar area is on the right
hand side of the entrance. South Africa is renowned for its wines
and Vasnat will be no different as our glass fronted cellar next
to the bar will be well stocked with only locals wines to cater
for any occasion.
On the left of the plan is the extensive open plan Cape Dutch
kitchen with an open fire, wood burning pizza oven plus state
of the art cooking facilities. You can watch as the chef creates
you a gourmet delight with only top quality fresh ingredients
and Mark's usual flare!
The social area extends to the outside deck, a chance to wine
and dine in the open air and no doubt there will be regular South
African Braai nights (BBQs!).

The spacious
lawn courtyard will be populated with sun chairs and when you
have soaked up a few too many rays, you can cool off in the infinity
pool on the raised area at the end of the courtyard. It seems
socialising will never end as the hot tub will be the best way
to impart tales of your exploring that day whilst you unwind.
Sunbathing will also be available on the veranda beyond the swimming
pool, unless the Cape Doctor (strong southerly wind that prevails
in the Cape region) is a bit too exhilarating, in which case we
will shelter the club by closing the one way glass doors.
The resort
is being built not only to offer comfort and luxury but also an
environmentally friendly stay. With some of the latest energy
saving Technology.
With a range of solar panels and small wind turbines we should
be able to create enough electric for the resort. We also have
water purifying systems so we can use the waste water on the gardens
and vineyard.
